Description of the class:  Networking refers to using face-to-face contact to establish relationships that can lead to business opportunities.  Although cost effective, it can be time consuming.  There is an art to networking effectively.  In this class you will be given a few seeds to help make your network garden grow.

Objectives: 

  • To provide key tips to help you identify activities and events where you can meet potential clients, customers, referral sources, and become recognized in the business community. 
  • Present actions one can take in order to help make networking an effective marketing strategy.

Handouts:  Worksheet identifying the 5-types of networking groups and tips for face-to-face networking.

What students should be able to do at the end of the class:

  • Identify which networking groups fit their business and/or personality
  • Understand what they need to do in order to make networking work for them
  • Recognize that networking is more than gaining business, but it is a building mutually beneficial relationships

Description of the class:  “The Lifeblood of your business- Money” is a three part series.  The “Part I” explains the use and power of money.   This is not an accounting class, but gives an overview on how money should be approached.  In this class we will discuss personal financial literacy, financial responsibilities, and financial injustice.  This class is designed for anyone that is spending money. 

Objectives:

  • Understand the Ins and Outs of Credit
  • Identify ABCs in Banking
  • Identify ways to Improve your credit
  • Understand the Fundamentals of Budgets
  • Identify ways to Growing you money
  • Recognize Economic Injustices

Handouts:  Fundamental budget worksheet (personal and business), template letters to credit reporting companies, and a financial tip sheet.

  • Create a personal and business budget
  • Increase wealth without an income increase
  • Understand credit pit falls and how to avoid them
